Day 2
Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Ananuri – Stephantsminda – Gudauri
After the breakfast we will drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Mtskheta was the capital of the eastern kingdom of Georgia – Iberia from the third century BC till the 5th century AD. Next stop on the way to Stephantsminda will be at the architectural complex Ananuri, which was the residence of the lords of Aragvi (Eristavi).
Lunch en route. Upon arrival in Stephantsminda (1700m above sea level), we will take a light walk in the neighborhood and then up to the main attraction of the area, Gergeti Trinity Church, towering above the village of Stephantsminda. After the visit & sightseeing, we will arrive to the international ski resort in Gudauri (2100m ASL). Dinner and overnight at the local hotel.
