Kvareli – Tbilisi city tour – Departure

After breakfast we will drive you towards Tbilisi. First we will drive you for Tbilisi city Tour. Tbilisi has a long and fascinating history. Founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali and named after its warm mineralwater springs, it rapidly developed into the main city of the Caucasus. By the 12th century Tbilisi was one of the most important political, economic and cultural centers of the Middle East. It stood as a key point on the famous Silk Road, bridging Europe and Asia. River Mtkvari divides the city on two parts. Tbilisi is the homeland of eclectic mix of Orthodox churches, mosques and synagogues. We will walk on the Rustaveli avenue and through the old and narrow Tbilisi streets, we will see traditional houses with wooden balconies. We will visit Metekhi church 13th century, is located on an elevated cliff that overlooks the Mtkvari River; Anchiskhati – the oldest church in Tbilisi (6th century); then visit Sioni church and the Shardeni street filled with pubs, restaurants, nightclubs, and cafés, as well as some of the most popular places for foreigners to gather in the evening. We will visit Narikala Fortress and up by funicular to the Holy Mountain Mtatsminda.
